Beautiful Ugly by Sheila Lipsey

Imagine It! by Shelia Lipsey

My son has been excited about a change that is occurring in his life. It is a good thing too. You see, he used to be the type of young man that spouted defeating, negative words over his life. Words like, “I never get a break. Nothing ever turns out right for me. I can never catch a break.” Some of you may have said some of the same things. If you haven’t, maybe you’ve said something similar. I admit that I have.

Much like my son, the three young women in my novel Beautiful Ugly have some not-so-good opinions of themselves for various reasons. The opinions they have translate over into their everyday lives. Believe it or not, our words have power. We can use words to speak life or death. "A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit." (Proverbs 15:4)

Praises be to God, my son has begun to speak positive things over his life. He has seen the fruits of his words quickly spreading because he has changed his tune from a negative attitude to words like Imagine It! He has begun to believe that his dreams can come true. He believes that good things will follow him.

Your dreams can come true too, if you imagine that they can. Imagine being a bestselling author. Imagine being a great doctor, lawyer, teacher, or parent. Whatever the desires of your heart, imagine that they will come to pass. Speak great things over your life and the lives of your family and loved ones.

Never give up, because you’ll never achieve what you don’t believe. Believe that you will receive that which you ask for. Speak words of faith and love.
Imagine goodness and mercy following after you. Imagine the blessings of God running you down, chasing after you to give you good gifts and perfect gifts. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Imagine It!

About Beautiful Ugly
Three friends with different struggles rely on God and each other to get by. Layla Hobbs has so much to offer, including a beautiful singing voice, but obesity and low self-esteem hold her back from life and finding true love. Envy Wilson has always been Layla’s backbone. But what about her own dark secrets? She won’t share them with anyone, and it’s starting to eat away at her from the inside. And then there’s Kacie Mayweather. Stricken with cerebral palsy, she’s had her share of men—five baby daddies for six children, in fact. But she’s never had one man to call her own. They’ll need plenty of faith and support from each other to see the real beauty that lies within each one of them and fulfill their deepest desires at last.
